Why Strawberries?

Strawberries - Transp.png

It all started when...

When Grace was first admitted to the hospital at age 11, her brother Patrick introduced her to the Beatles’ iconic song, “Strawberry Fields Forever,” as a way to communicate to her that there was a light at the end of the tunnel; that  no matter how emotionally painful the process was, her struggle to work through her affliction would be worth the effort in the end. From that point forward, strawberries took on a metaphoric meaning for Grace…. they became synonymous with hope, possibility, courage, perseverance and faith.  Faith to hold on;  faith that things can get better; faith that every step toward recovery was a step worth taking. Thus, the double strawberry logo:  there is hope, there is possibility, there is healing, and together, side by side, we’ll get there.

“Let me take you down,
'cause I'm going to Strawberry Fields.
Nothing is real,
And nothing to get hung about.
Strawberry Fields forever.”
